The Ministry of Defense of the Slovak Republic has been publishing the monthly magazine OBRANA (DEFENSE) since the declaration of the Slovak Republic in 1993. It continues the tradition from 1914, when this monthly magazine was founded in Cleveland, USA. The magazine informs about current events in the Ministry of Defense and topics related to the Slovak Armed Forces.

The magazine Historie a vojenství (History and Military) is the only Czech specialized scientific and peer-reviewed periodical in the field of military history. It is published four times a year, in A4 format with color and black-and-white reproductions.

One of the tasks of the National Remembrance Institute is to acquaint the professional and lay public with the results of research that deals with the period of unfreedom as defined by Act no. 553/2002 Coll. Therefore, the Institute publishes the magazine Pamäť národa, the first issue of which was published in October 2004. Since 2005, it has been published quarterly.

The Chaillot Papers are the main publication of the EUISS Institute. They are written by the institute's analysts as well as external experts and, based on collective work or individual research, they deal with all the topics that are currently relevant to the security of the Union.

Reports are publications that usually contain the outputs of joint major research projects or individual studies for third parties. It is an in-depth analysis of key issues related to EU security and defence.
