In early 2017, the NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence held a one-day event inviting participants to come up with ideas to detect fake news. The gathering in Riga (Latvia) attracted 28 people from various backgrounds such as coders, journalists and statisticians. The winning idea was a Facebook game named ‘FakeBuster’ that teaches media literacy and trains critical thinking.
