The German initiative library program for Central and Eastern Europe Bücher und Menschen - People and books provided by Fritz Thyssen Foundation in 2006, University Library in Bratislava 15 thousand euro to buy books. The program Menschen un Bücher - Peaople and books is developed for several years.
The project was counducted under the auspices of a strong support from the Goethe Institute in Bratislava. Ceremony of the first part of the gift was made 28.6.2006, in the week of Slovak libraries. This action was associated with the exhibition, present were the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany Jochen Trebesch and Culture Minister František Tóth.
