The Slovak ISSN National Centre acts as an executive authority of the International ISSN Network for Slovakia.The ISSN network is made up of national centres which are coordinated by the ISSN International Centre situated in Paris.The ISSN network was established to control the ISSN assignment, to maintain a database of records for the world serial publications and to support the bibliographic control. The Slovak National ISSN Centre performs the function of the ISSN assignment, the maintenance of the Slovak National ISSN Database, advertisment and promotion of the system and contact with the local bibliographic and publishing communities.
