UNESCO Associated Schools

(Associated Schools Project Network - ASPnet)

   

The program was established in 1953 in 33 schools in 15 countries around the world. Today, more than 10,000 primary and secondary schools participate in the program, which have decided to conduct teaching in accordance with the principles of global citizenship, sustainable development, inclusion, environmental education and the protection of human rights in 182 countries around the world. The network of affiliated schools is one of the most successful long-term UNESCO projects. The intention behind the creation of the project was to support the participation of schools in projects in an effort to strengthen the human, ethical and cultural dimensions of education.

 

The main objectives of the ASPnet project include:

  • supporting education and training in the field of international understanding
  • strengthening international cooperation between countries and schools
  • development of international and human capacities for innovative teaching
  • development of international and human capacities for innovative teaching
